Summer Baseball: Ashland, Hudson Legion win in Chairman's Cup

Evan Park threw a complete game while striking out seven and allowing just two hits as host Ashland (15-6) dropped Malden in the second round of the Zone 5 Chairman?s Cup, 11-2.

Ashland will host last night?s Tyngsborough/Natick winner in the winner?s bracket semifinal tonight at 5:45 p.m.

Offensively, Chris Moberg was 3-for-3 with three doubles and three RBIs, while Kyle Goulet went 2-for-3 with 2 runs. Also, Kevin Guiliano was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs, Ben Smith was 2-for-3 with two runs and Ben Palleiko went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Kevin Connelly pitched a complete game with five hits and five strikeouts for his first career win as Hudson won 10-2 at Riverside Park in its opener of the Chairman?s Cup. Post 100 (15-6), which had a first-round bye, will host North Chelmsford on Wednesday in the double-elimination tournament. Kyle Sullivan had three hits, including a three-run home run in the third inning, and John Rumney had two hits and walked twice.
